I’ve slipped between writing and art since the first time I read the Sunday comics. Now, I use my skills to help people live a little simpler and happier.

SUN BUM

Digital OOH -- Writing, Art Direction

Problem:
UV exposure is worse on snowy mountaintops than on sandy beaches, but skiers and snowboarders forget that when they’re busy shreddin’ gnar.

Insight:
Sunburn is a language that’s easy to understand.

With these digital billboards I aimed to reach skiers where they live, and to communicate the need for sunscreen without confusing stats or figures.

I developed the concept, wrote the ads, wrote the case board and deck, and designed the billboards.

Large-scale, digital displays measure real-time UV levels, and a simple gradient makes the data easy to digest: yellow means UV’s low; purple means UV’s high.

Mountaintop tiki huts bring the beach to skiers, reminding them that you don’t need a beach to get burnt.

Click through to view the deck, which you’ve seen most of already, but I’m proud of the first half and it didn’t fit anywhere else on this page.
